Eight more breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia, SANA- The cessation of hostilities agreement was breached eight more times by terrorist groups in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 928 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian center monitoring the agreement said on Friday.

Based in Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia, the center added in a statement that the so-called Jaish al-Islam terrorist organization targeted with mortar shells the towns of Hawsh Nasri, al-Nashabiyeh, al-Rihan, Zamalka, Hteitet al-Jarash and Harasta in Damascus Countryside, in addition to Joubar neighborhood in Damascus City.

The Center pointed out that 4 more towns in the countryside of Lattakia and Hama have joined the agreement as the total number of the Syrian cities and towns which have joined the agreement reached 353.

The Center indicated that Jabhat al-Nusra and the ISIS terrorist organizations are still firing mortar shells on the neighborhoods of Damascus Countryside and Aleppo to undermine the agreement of the cessation of hostilities in Syria.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups defined as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
