Six more breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia, SANA – The cessation of hostilities agreement was breached six times by terrorist groups in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 900 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian center monitoring the agreement said on Monday.

Based in Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia, the Russian center added in a statement that the six violations were committed by the so-called Jaish al-Islam terrorists who shelled several towns in Damascus Countryside and by the terrorists of the so-called Free Army who shelled two towns in Lattakia countryside.

The Center indicated that the Russian and the Syrian air forces have never targeted any armed groups which had announced that they joined the cessation of hostilities agreement.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to the ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
