People’s Assembly discusses the ministerial statement of the government

Damascus, SANA- People’s Assembly, headed by Speaker Hadiyeh Abbas, continued on Thursday its deliberations on the ministerial statement of the new government.

The statement included a set of priorities starting from caring about families of martyrs and providing them with their financial requirements to relieve their sufferings, facilitating the administrative measures to ensure they get their legitimate dues and supporting them for their sacrifices.

Prime Minister Imad Khamis said that the terrorist war on Syria produced a lot of negative effects which affected the lives of citizens in all aspects , noting that the work of the government will focus on securing the basic requirements under these difficult circumstances.

He added that the stability in the exchange rate is significantly connected to production in addition to financial intervention policies, affirming that the economic policy during this stage will be done through a complete work mechanism including the ministries in addition to a consultant office from a number of economists, academics and businessmen in the private sector.

Premier said there will be significant economic measures ranging from encouraging the agricultural sector in both its plant and livestock sides by importing basic materials and preventing monopoly or restricting imports to special persons.

Khamis pointed out that any corruption file, whether administrative or financial, must be presented by the People’s Assembly in a documented or written way or through committees concerned ,noting that combating corruption has begun and in the coming days corrupt managers will be legally prosecuted.

He stressed said that the mechanism of the file of reconstruction will be among the priorities and within the available possibilities, noting that it will be launched after restoring security and stability.

“We will focus currently on production and service projects” Khamis said, affirming that Syria will not abandon its people inside and outside Syria or its responsibilities towards the displaced.
