Moscow counts on progress in Geneva talks on Syria on Tuesday, Gatilov says

 

Moscow, SANA- Moscow counts on achieving advance regarding the inter-Syrian dialogue at the talks on Syria scheduled to be held in Geneva on Tuesday with the participation of Russia, the US and the UN, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady
Gatilov told TASS on Monday.

“We have a constructive attitude for the work with our partners and hope that we’ll be able to advance as regards the inter-Syrian negotiations process,” Gatilov said.

The Russian diplomat added that Russia considers positively Tuesday’s talks and aspires on a constructive approach by the US for finding a settlement to the crisis in Syria.

The parties are expected to discuss in detail promoting the inter-Syrian dialogue. They may also focus on the elaboration of the agreements reached at the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John
Kerry.

Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura and Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Anne W. Patterson will take part in the trilateral meeting in Geneva on Tuesday.
