Terrorist groups breach cessation of hostilities four times in Damascus countryside

Lattakia, SANA – The cessation of hostilities agreement was breached four times by terrorist groups in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 799 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian center monitoring the agreement said on Thursday.

Based in Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia, the Russian center added in a statement that the so-called Jaish al-Islam terrorists targeted several towns in Damascus countryside with rocket and mortar shells.

The statement noted that ISIS and Jabhat al- Nusra terrorists continued their attempts to foil the agreement through firing shells on al-Nairab Airport and al-Sheikh Maqsoud, al-Khalediyeh and Salah Eddin neighborhoods in Aleppo and its countryside.

The center indicated that the number of towns that are now part of the cessation of hostilities agreement is 206 after 6 more towns in Daraa joined it.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
