Damascus, SANA – The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held on Tuesday a farewell ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus for China’s Ambassador in Damascus Wang Kejian on the occasion of ending his diplomatic mission in Syria.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad awarded the Syrian Order of Merit of Excellent Degree to Kejian as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts to enhance relations between the two countries.
In a speech during the ceremony, Mikdad affirmed that Syrian-Chinese relations are deep-rooted, and that China has balanced relations with the countries of the world to serve the peoples without external interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
In turn, Kejian pointed out that his country’s stance towards Syria hasn’t and will not change, hoping that the crisis in Syria will be resolved politically soon.
The Chinese diplomat noted that China supports the Syrian government’s efforts in fighting terrorism which poses a threat to the entire world, affirming his country’s keenness to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and its readiness to participate in the reconstruction stage in Syria.
