Aid provided by Iran and Chechnya distributed in Damascus and Sweida

Damascus/Sweida, SANA – The Charity Commission for the Relief of the Palestinian People started on Thursday the distribution of food packages provided by Iran to displaced residents of Palestinian camps in Damascus.

In a statement to SANA, Head of the Commission, Mazen Abu Atwan, clarified that the Commission is distributing some 2300 food packages to residents of Palestinian camps who have been displaced and moved to different areas within Damascus and its countryside due to terrorism.

Today’s distribution is taking place in al-Zahira neighborhood in Damascus. The aid delivery is part of “Ramadan al-Kheir” programs targeting people who are fasting the holy month of Ramadan.

Abu Atwan pointed out that the Commission distributes 1500 Iftar meals daily at the Commission’s center in al-Zahira, expressing appreciation of the Syrian government for providing the Commission with food supplies to be distributed to beneficiaries.

Humanitarian aid from Chechnya distributed in Sweida

Humanitarian aid offered by Chechnya was distributed among displaced families who are currently living in a temporary housing center at al-Baath Vanguards Camp in Sweida province, in cooperation with Sweida Governorate.

Member of the Federation Council of Russia Ziyad Sabsabi, who participated in the distribution process, said that this humanitarian aid which is offered by the Chechen Ahmat Kadyrov Charity Foundation is part of the duty towards the Syrians who are facing an fierce terrorist campaign.

He pointed out that the distribution process will continue till the last day of Ramadan, pointing out that a permanent scientific center for children aged between five and twelve years in addition to a medical center for children and women will be established.

In turn, Hazaa Kaiwf, head of the temporary housing center at Baath Vanguards Camp said that the aid will alleviate the suffering of displaced persons in the center which hosts around 4,300 citizens from the provinces of Daraa, Damascus Countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Qamishli, Idleb, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.
