Tehran, SANA – Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Akbar Velayati, affirmed on Tuesday that the Syrian-Iranian-Russian coordination in combating terrorism is in the interest of the Syrian people and serves the security and stability of the region.
During a meeting with Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, Velayati said that the whole world is beginning to realize that it can’t weaken Syria thanks to the steadfastness of its people, army, and leadership for more than five years in the fight against terrorism and its supporters, pointing out that the victories of the Iraqi Army in Fallujah will reflect positively on the situation in Syria.
Velayati also reiterated his country’s firm and strategic position on the continued support of Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad as a key link in the axis of resistance in the region to defeat terrorism and restore security and stability to it.
In turn, Ambassador Mahmoud expressed Syria’s appreciation for the Iranian stances towards it in the face of the blatant terrorist war, adding that the Syrian Arab Army and its allies are making more achievements against the Takfiri terrorists.
