Terrorist groups violate cessation of hostilities agreement five more times Wednesday

Lattakia, SANA-The cessation of hostilities agreement has been violated by terrorist groups five times during the last 24 hours, the Russian coordination center said.

The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said in a statement Wednesday that it observed 5 violations, 4 in Damascus Countryside and one in Quneitra province, while no violations were observed in other provinces.

On Tuesday, the center observed 5 violations of the agreement by terrorist groups, 4 in Damascus countryside and one in Idleb province.

The number of towns that have joined the agreement has grown to 150, following singing agreements with activities of two towns in Aleppo and Daraa provinces, the statement said.

The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect on 27 February 2016, does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
