Anti-Erdogan protests staged in several Turkish cities

Ankara, SANA – Popular demonstrations were staged in a number of Turkish cities including Istanbul, Ankara, Mersin and Izmir Sunday in protest of policies of president of the Turkish regime Recep Teyyeb Erdogan and his support to terrorist organizations in Syria.

Thousands of protesters, raising placards warning of Erdogan’s procedures to establish a Fascist, totalitarian and dictatorial regime, participated in Istanbul demonstration calling for the necessity of facing such policies.

Spokespersons of Turkish popular and vocational organizations affirmed in speeches during the demonstrations that Erdogan and his party of Justice and development (AKP) support terrorist organizations in Syria including ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, pointing out that Turkish regime seeks to destroy the region in service of Zionist and Imperialist plots.

They indicated that Erdogan and his government perpetrate crimes against their Kurdish citizens and exert efforts to establish a backward religious regime in alliance with the Saudi and Qatari regimes.

Turkish cities witnessed in May and June 2013 wide demonstrations, when Erdogan was Premier of AKP government, against totalitarian policies and demanded the resignation of the government, Premier, and heads of Security agencies.

Meanwhile, three Turkish soldiers were killed in an explosion in the Nusaybin district of the southeastern province of Mardin on Sunday.

A Turkish military official said in a statement that two soldiers were killed while dismantling handmade explosives while a third one was seriously injured and died later in the hospital.
