Pyongyang, SANA, President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un has asserted that his country would not resort to the use of nuclear weapons unless it’s sovereignty was challenged.
“As a responsible nuclear weapons state, our Republic will not use a nuclear weapon unless its sovereignty is encroached upon by any aggressive hostile forces with nukes,” Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted President Kim as saying while addressing the 7th Congress of the Korean Workers’ Party (WP) on Saturday.
DPRK “will faithfully fulfill its obligation for non-proliferation and strive for global denuclearization”, DPRK President said, stressing that realizing a peaceful world is an aim of WP, as well as achieving peace and security in the world is the steady stance of the party and government of DPRK.
President Kim called upon the Korean People’s Army to preserve fighting- readiness for retaliation against any provocations by the US and South Korean against his country, vowing that his country would retaliate and punish opponents and fulfill the historic task represented in reunification the homeland.
