President Putin calls for closing Syrian-Turkish borders to stop cross of extremists

Moscow, SANA-Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed the need for “closing the Syrian-Turkish borders as gunmen and arms still cross to the extremists in Syria.”

Russia Today TV quoted President Putin as calling on the so-called moderate opposition to keep away from the terrorist organizations, mainly ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra.

The Russian President’s comments came during a telephone call with his US counterpart Barack Obama on Monday.

The two presidents discussed the situation in Syria, affirming the need for “boosting system of the cessation of hostilities and guaranteeing the delivering of humanitarian aid to regions in need.”

They stressed the importance of continuing coordination between efforts of the two states on Syria, and the importance of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in Geneva under the patronage of the UN which should help find political ways to solve the crisis.
