Russian and Syrian air forces conduct 459 sorties against 1589 terrorists’ targets since Feb. 16 th

Damascus, SANA- Russian Aerospace force, in cooperation with the Syrian Air Force, carried out 459 sorties against 1589 targets for terrorist organizations in Syria since February 16th till date, a military source told SANA Wednesday.

The source said in a statement of which SANA received a copy that the sorties destroyed 1589 targets for terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Hasaka, Daraa and Homs.

Among these targets, 10 fortified positions, tanks, machinegun-equipped vehicles for ISIS terrorist organization were destroyed and more than 50 terrorists in Athriya area in the eastern countryside of Hama were killed.

Sorties against gatherings of ISIS terrorists in the south eastern countryside of Homs eliminated cannons along with terrorists in Toloul al-Ramlat.

In Aleppo countryside, the sorties destroyed three vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns and killed more than 10 terrorists from ISIS terrorist organization in al-Bab area 38 kilometers to the north east of Aleppo.

The air force destroyed a depot in Nahashba village in Lattakia countryside in addition to another depot in al-Ghariyeh al-Gharbiyeh north east Daraa.

The air force destroyed 1593 targets for terrorists in Deir Ezzor, Daraa, Homs, Hama, Lattakia and Aleppo from February 10th till 16th within the framework of implementing the agreement between Syria and Russia to combat international terrorism and eliminate ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations.

Gen. Igor Konashinkov, spokesman for the Russian defense ministry said in a press conference details of which were published on RT website that the Russian air force carried out 62 sorties in a number of northern, eastern and western provinces on Tuesday destroying 10 positions for terrorists.

Konashinkov said that 10 terrorists were killed and two batteries for mortar launchers in addition to a number of armored vehicles were destroyed in the area surrounding al-Bab city in Aleppo countryside in addition to destroying vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns and 10 trucks for ISIS terrorists in al-Raqqa.

The military official said that the Turkish artillery continues to shell Syrian territories, calling on international organizations to taking notice of these criminal acts by the Turkish authorities.
Konashinkov reaffirmed that the Russian-US agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other organizations classified as terrorists by the UN Security Council.

Konashinkov said that Russia on Tuesday handed over all the coordinates and lines of communication with the military attaché in Moscow under the Russian-US agreement to stop hostilities in Syria, noting that “24 hours on, we have not received any reply.”

Commenting on the US statements regarding an alternative plan in case the agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria has failed, Konashinkov said “We began a difficult and important work to launch the settlement process and the truce in Syria, and we call on our colleagues and American partners to do so “.

On Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the establishment of a coordination center in Hmeimeem base to monitor the cessation of hostilities and the delivery of humanitarian aid to various areas in Syria.
