Hama, SANA- Hama Governor Ghassan Khalaf discussed with Najat Krimov, head of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) office in Hama and Homs, means to improve the living conditions for displaced people who are residing in makeshift residential centers.
The governor pointed out that the number of arrivals to Hama province had increased due to the acts of armed terrorist organizations, mainly in Raqqa and Idleb provinces, adding that Hama province needs support to rehabilitate the makeshift residential centers and meet the basic needs of displaced families.
The governor called on the UNHCR to offer jobs for the unemployed who are residing in makeshift residential centers through financing micro and small projects.
In turn, Krimov pointed out that the UNHCR plan for 2016 and 2017 focused on the implementation of development projects in coordination with partners in Homs, Hama, or by launching projects in cooperation and coordination with Hama governorate, pointing out that the Commission intends to start small and limited projects as a first step.
