16 civilians killed, 35 injured in two terrorist bomb attacks in al-Qamishli, Cabinet condemns

Hasaka, SANA –16 civilians were killed and 35 injured Wednesday night in two terrorist bomb attacks targeted al-Shiyahi neighborhood in the city center of al-Qamishli, in the north eastern governorate of Hasaka.

A source at the governorate told SANA reporter that terrorists detonated two explosive devices inside Miami and Gabriel restaurants in the city center claiming the lives of 16 civilians and injuring 35 two of them in critical conditions.

The two bomb attacks caused big damage inside the two restaurants, the source added.

In turn, Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi said terrorists are cornered and may perpetrate any other foolish action, so “we have to be careful, precise and enhance facing terrorists”.

The Minister added, in an interview with the Syrian TV, such terrorist explosions are dirty and spiteful, and attempts to revenge from our people in al-Qamishli, as the explosions which targeted al-Zahra’a neighborhood in Homs.

The Cabinet condemns the terrorist bomb attacks

The Cabinet on Thursday condemned the two terrorist bomb attacks that hit al-Qamishli Wednesday night.

Prime Minister Wael Halaqi said in a statement that such Takfiri terrorists’ explosions that target a number of Syrian cities are a clear and sound proof of the brutality of such criminal gangs that perpetrate them, as well as their desperate attempts to raise the defeated and collapsed morale of their members as the achievements of the army and national reconciliations are increased.

“Such terrorist explosions would not derail us from facing them [terrorists] till liberating every inch of the Syrian territory”, The premier affirmed, pointing out  “We are looking forwards to the next year to be the year of the greater victory over terrorism” and the return of security and stability to the country.

The Premier offered condolences to the families of killed citizens, and expressed hope of hasty recovery to the injured ones.

Meanwhile, two civilians were killed in terrorist mortar and rocket attacks carried out by terrorists from “Islam Army” terror organization on Harasta Suburb in Damascus Countryside and residential neighborhoods in Damascus.

A police source said that terrorists fired 8 shells which landed in Blocks B1 and B2 in Harasta Suburb, claiming two civilians’ lives and injuring two others, in addition to causing material damage to homes and private properties.

Four more shells fired by terrorists fell in Mazzeh 86 Jabal and al-Abbasiyeen neighborhoods in Damascus city, causing only material damage, according to the source.

The source added that 5 other shells landed in al- Kassaa and Bab Toma neighborhoods, injuring 8 citizens.

The attack also caused material damage to a building and number of cars in the place.

2 citizens were injured when 2 rocket shells fell in the area surrounding al-Sibki and al-Jahiz parks.
