Three Syrian universities among top 10 in the 2015 ACPC

Cairo, SANA- Three Syrian universities won Sunday three among top 10 places in the 2015 Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC) being held in Sharm El-Sheikh,Egypt .

The team of Aleppo University won the second place while the teams of Tishreen and Damascus universities won the sixth and ninth places respectively among 83 participant teams from 20 Arab countries, Tarek Barakat Deputy Director of the Contest in Levant Region said.

Brakat clarified that upon the results of this Contest, the participants in the international Collegiate Programming Contest due to be held in Thailand in May 2016 will be defined, outbalancing the qualification of two Syrian teams for the international Contest.

He highlighted the importance of this contest for being the basic standard to classify universities at the world’s level.
13 teams from the Syrian universities are taking part in the 18th regional finals of the Collegiate Programming Contest in Egypt.

Those teams’ participations came after the results of the national finals of the 5th Collegiate Programming Contest held at Tishreen University last September.
