Sao Paulo, SANA – The Brazilian Front of Solidarity with Syria, which includes several Brazilian left-wing political parties and movements and student organizations, reiterated its full support for the people, leadership, and army of Syria in the face of foreign-backed terrorism.
This came during an event organized outside the Syrian Consulate in Sao Paulo, in which participants said that Syria has been facing terrorism backed by Western states and some Arab states for around five years, all because of Syria’s firm and principled positions and its commitment to its sovereignty and independent decision-making.
They called on the international community to support Syria against terrorism and to follow Russia’s example in this regard, asserting that the recent attacks in Paris prove the fallacy of the erroneous policies and double standards employed by some Western states against Syria by supporting what they call “moderate armed opposition.”
The event saw the participation of representatives of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), the Free Homeland Party (PPL), the Brazilian Workers Confederation, the Brazilian Center for Solidarity with the Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz), and the Sao Paulo branch of FEARAB, in addition to members of the Arab community in the city.
