New York, SANA- UN Special envoy to Syria Staffan Di Mistura called for forming “a comprehensive and unified delegation of opposition” to start a political process that achieves the peaceful settlement to the crisis in Syria.
“It is important to have a unified opposition and I think we will reach this target through speeding up efforts and through the participation of all countries which have influence and play an important role,” Di Mistura said at a press conference on Thursday.
He added that during Vienna meeting, agreement has been made to reach a cease-fire, considering this issue as “closer to be realized more than any time before.”
Di Mistura saw that the reason behind cease-fire, which doesn’t include the Islamic state (ISIS), is the beginning of a political process which achieves the peaceful, political settlement to the crisis in Syria.
He pointed out to a number of places where cease-fire has succeeded, like al-Fawa’a and Kafrya towns which have been realized through the participation of influential sides.
