Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al- Halaqi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several service, development and industrial projects in the coastal Lattakia province on Friday.
The inauguration of the SYP 13 billion–worth projects marks the 45th anniversary of the glorious Correctionist Movement of November 16th, 1970.
In a tour in the province, al-Halaqi inaugurated a number of service projects, including expanding Bassel al-Assad Airport, with a cost of SYP 275 million, laying the cornerstone for the Customs Building at Bassel al-Assad Airport, with an estimated cost of SYP 450 million and laying the cornerstone for an industrial city in Jableh with a cost of SYP 975 million.
Premier al-Halaqi laid the cornerstone for the 4.2-km long Eastern Bypass in Jableh city, with a cost of SYP 2 billion, and with a SYP 1.7 million-worth network of queues and roads linking the bypass with Lattakia-Tartous highway, as well as al-Burjan intersection which links al-Burjan town to the Lattakia-Tartous-highwaywhich is valued at 300 million.
He also laid the cornerstone for a factory for Tameco Pharmaceutical Company, the project provides 185 job opportunities and costs SYP 3.5 billion, as well as the cornerstone for a juice factory valued at SYP 4 billion.
Al-Halaqi said the developmental projects indicate Syria’s commitment to the goals of the glorious Correctionist Movement and confront the unjust economic and terrorist war waged on the country.
On a relevant note, Premier al-Halaqi presented an SYP 1 billion grant to Lattakia Governorate for the purpose of revitalizing services and development sectors in the province.
During his tour, the Prime Minister also visited families of martyrs in Lattakia countryside and offered condolences, in addition to meeting representatives of social and economic activities in Lattakia and MPs from the province, offering condolences to them and to the people of Lattakia over the victims of the recent terrorist attack that claimed the lives of several civilians. He also visited an army site in the province and met the officers and soldiers operating in it.
On Thursday, al-Halaqi inaugurated Dreikish Dam in the coastal Tartous province, hours after he inaugurated the Educational Medical City Hospital that is affiliated to the private al-Qalamoun University in Deir Atiah in Damascus Countryside.
