Damascus, SANA-The Embassy of Algeria in Damascus held a reception Monday on the 61st anniversary of the liberation revolution of November at Four Seasons Hotel.
Algerian Ambassador Saleh Boushah said that Algeria, which has suffered from the plague of terrorism, stands by Syria today in combating terrorism, adding “We hope Syria would restore its position and its security in a way to play its pan-Arab role.”
He affirmed this target would be achieved only through regional and international peaceful efforts and through activating the track of a national reconciliation in Syria.
“The Algerian people have recorded brilliant pages in history that we couldn’t forget,” Vice-President Najah al-Attar said in a statement to SANA.
She appreciated the Algerian people’s steadfastness and gaining victory after more than 100 years of occupation.
For her part, Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban added “our generation is part of the Algerian revolution, affirming that Syria, which withstood during the years of crisis, joined itself to Algeria in liberation and struggle.”
In turn, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said that celebrating the Revolutions in Damascus is a reflection of natural expression of the heartfelt feelings of the Syrian people and leadership towards the brotherly Algerian people, pointing out that the Algerian Revolution has become the greatest revolution in human history.
Mikdad considered the terrorists who shed the Algerian blood are part and parcel of the terrorist organizations that shed the Syrian blood, stressing that conspiracy against Syria is a result of its stance regarding the Palestinian Cause.
He also congratulated the Algerian people and leadership for this great victory.
Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, Grand Mufti and other senior officials, dignitaries and diplomats attended the reception.
