Velayati denounces terrorist acts in Syria and Iraq

Tehran, SANA- Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council’s Center for Strategic Research, Advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati denounced on Tuesday acts of terrorism in Syria and Iraq, calling on world’s governments to exert more efforts to end conflicts in the region.

“Terrorists in Syria and Iraq destroyed the culture, history and the historical ruins and caused tremendous damage,” Velayati said during a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson in Tehran.

He voiced regret on the conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen in addition to other countries because they resulted in destabilizing security in the region , the flow of terrorists from more than 80 countries and engaging in wars against the legitimate governments through terrorist and extremist groups.
