Updated-France’s support to terrorism in Syria damages its reputation, Assistant FM tells a French delegation

Damascus, SANA- Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan on Tuesday briefed a delegation from the French National Assembly headed by MP Gerard Bapt on the terrorist aggression launched against Syria.

MPs Jerome Lambert and Christian Hutin are also among the members of the French delegation.

Sousan stressed that the developments of events have proved the credibility of the Syrian vision regarding the systematic destruction which has targeted some countries of the region.

He held the French Government responsible morally and political for supporting terrorism in Syria, and for its suspicious alliances with some of the regimes of the Gulf States to achieve cheap material interests at the expense of the peoples of the regions and in a way that damages the reputation of France at the international scene and doesn’t serve its interests.

He added that admitting wrong policies adopted by officials of some countries, which are involved in the aggression against Syria, must be in accordance with their serious participation in combating terrorism in the framework of the UN Security Council’s relevant resolutions and of respecting national sovereignty, and to oblige terrorism supporting countries to stop any form of providing support to terrorist organizations to preserve the regional and international peace and stability.

He highly appreciated the conscientious people in France and the European Union who have criticized the current policies of the French Government, underlining the importance of the role played by the parliamentarians in correcting the wrong policies.
