Damascus, SANA – With the participation of more than 600 children, activities of the “Sport for Development” Project continued at al-Jalaa Sports city in Mazzeh in Damascus.
The event is organized by the Syrian Commission for Family Affairs in cooperation with the UN Children’s Rights & Emergency Relief Organization (UNICEF), the General Sports Federation and Syria’s Scouts.
The project aims at providing psychological and social support for youths and children through a set of sports, entertainment and educational activities that motivate them to continue their studies.
The organizers said the event has drawn large numbers of participants ranging from 7 to 18 years old, noting that the event is held in cooperation with a number of local clubs.
The project began last July and is scheduled to last until the end of the year. It will be held in five different provinces, including Sweida.
