Tehran, SANA – Activities of the second day of the 8th session of General Assembly of Islamic Radios and Televisions Union (IRTVU), continued Monday with the participation of Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi and the accompanying delegation.
Earlier Sunday, activities of the 8th session of IRTVU were launched in Tehran with the participation of regional and international media establishments and figures.
The first day activities included opening a Photographic Islamic news agency, Islamic Film Market and engineering exhibition.
The activities of the second day include honoring of a number of the families of media martyrs who were killed while they were performing their national duties in defending the sanctities of the nation in addition to media elite.
Some 21 remarkable media works, which participated in the 6th Media Festival, will also be awarded.
Those who are excelled in the resistant media domain and in the production of film in the Islamic World will be honored in addition to other relevant activities.
Minister al-Zoubi, who met Iranian Political and media officials in Tehran Friday and Saturday and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, heads Syria’s media delegation to the conference which lasts for three days.
Information Minister holds meeting with heads of Iranian news agencies and media outlets
On a relevant note, Minister al-Zoubi held a meeting on Monday with heads of Iranian news agencies and media outlets at the headquarters of Tasnim News Agency in Tehran.
During the meeting, al-Zoubi gave an extensive and comprehensive review on the proceedings of the war on Syria and the terrorist attacks and embargo that target Syrian mass media.
The Minister also answered queries and questions from Iranian news agencies and media outlets on the developments of the war and the Syrian state’s efforts in confronting terrorist organizations and in seeking a political solution without foreign interference that preserves Syria’s sovereignty and independence.
Director General of SANA Ahmad Dawa and Director General of the General Establishment of Radio and TV Ramez Terjman attended the meeting.
