Health Ministry opens new departments at al-Qutaifa Hospital

Damascus Countryside, SANA – The Health Ministry opened on Thursday new departments at the National al-Qutaifa Hospital in Damascus Countryside at an estimated cost of SYP 75 million.

Some of these departments were expanded, while others were newly opened. Those include the emergency department, a laboratory, a resuscitation room, a blood-collection unit and an intensive care unit.

Touring the hospital, Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said the expansion and renovation works aim at improving the quality of services provided by the hospital, adding that new 4 dialysis devices were provided to the Dialysis Department.

Al-Qutaifeh Hospital, which was opened in May 2012, includes 93 beds. Its medical staff include 60 doctors, 127 residents and 120 nurses, in addition to a large number of technical assistants.
