During the event, Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Wael al-Imam stressed in his speech the important role of the resistance axis in confronting the occupation, pointing out that this axis will not remain silent in the face of terrorist organizations which have copied the practices of Israeli occupation.

He underlined the necessity of liberating all occupied lands in the Syrian Golan, Liwa Iskenderun and all Arab lands.

For his part, Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC) Ahmad Jibril said that Syria is the “last fulcrum” of the Palestine cause and were it to be destroyed, then Palestine and the entire nation will be gone.

Jibril called on the Palestinians to unite in order to confront Israeli expansionist schemes aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem and changing its demographic features.

The event was first initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation entity and its control of Jerusalem.
