A shopping festival starts in Tartous on the advent of Ramadan

Tartous, SANA – A shopping festival was launched Sunday at Tartous Governorate shopping complex in the coastal city of Tartous on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

A week-long festival, organized by the Ministry ofInternal Trade and Consumer Protection represented by its organizations, aims at providing various food stuff and household needs of the city’s locals at lower prices during Ramadan.

Opening the festival comes in the framework of thepositive intervention’s policy in the local markets to ensure the families’ needs of goods and consumables during Ramadan, Tartous governor Safwan Abu Sa’adi said.

Abu Sa’adi added that the prices are considered factors to encourage and stimulate the citizens on purchase and to activate the local markets.

Director of “SONDOS” Company Ammar al-Ahmad said the festival is the outcome partnership among the positive intervention companies to ensure the food stuff and consumables at lower prices by no less than 10 to 50 percent.

On the sidelines of the festival, A consumer Hall was opened in Drekeesh city in Tartous Province.

The hall is located on 400 square meters and encompasses various kinds of goods at lower prices, al-Ahmad said, noting that another hall will be opened in the city of Safita after completing preparations.

The Ministry launched on 20 June another shopping festival at Apamea shopping complex in the coastal Lattakia city.
