Agricultural Veterinary Exhibition held in Dama Rose Hotel

Damascus, SANA – The Agricultural Veterinary Exhibition was opened on Sunday at Dama Rose Hotel, with the participation of the Agriculture Ministry and 23 local and foreign companies, including German, French, and Italian companies.

Agriculture Minister Ahmad al-Qadri said that the exhibition seeks to maintain and improve communication between livestock raises and breeders, veterinary supplies producers, and consumers, and that showcasing Syrian veterinarian products shows the care and support given to this sector.

Al-Qadri said that Syrian veterinary medicine is of high quality and is exported to 42 Arab and foreign countries, and there are efforts to find new foreign markets for it.

Exhibition organizer Mahran al-Houri said that this event, which coincides with the annual conference of the Veterinarians Syndicate, will help update information on veterinary companies, as some of them had to change locations due to the current circumstances, and that it will revitalize this industrial sector and introduce new products to consumers.

CEO of SAFCO for Veterinary Medicines Mohammad Radwan Abdin, one of the participants in the exhibition, said that SAFCO produces medicines for local markets and exports to Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and that it’s working to reach new markets like Iran and Russia.

In turn, CEO of Al-Farabi Company Safwan Nuwelati said that his company has production lines for over 200 products licensed by the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, and that it exports to five Arab countries and is working towards exporting products to Europe.
