Syria’s Science Olympiad teams begin preparations for world competitions

Damascus, SANA – The National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad launched on Saturday a scientific forum to prepare the Syrian Science Olympiad teams for upcoming international competitions due to be held in July.

Head of the Commission Imad al-Azeb said this event, which is held at the Martyrs’ Daughters School, will provide training for around 100 students who make up the teams, providing theoretical and practical training to help the students achieve the best possible results.

The upcoming international competitions in question are the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from July 20th to 29th, the 46th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Mumbai, India from July 5th to 12th, the 27th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Almaty, Kazakhstan from July 26th to August 2nd August, the 56th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Chiang Mai, Thailand from July 3rd to 15th, and the 26th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in Denmark from 12th to 19th July, 2015.
