More 5,000 food packages offered by WFP arrive in Hasaka

 

Hasaka, SANA Some 5,000 food packages, offered by the World Food Program (WFP), arrived in Hasaka on Thursday.

The food packages will be distributed to the displaced families and others in need in the province.

About 3000 packages were sent to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Hasaka branch, and 2000 others to the al-Mawadah Charity Association to be distributed to the families displaced from Tal Barrak area, according to a statement issued by the UNWFP office in Qamishli.

The statement said the office will send another 1000 food packages to Hasaka branch of SARC and other 1000 to Mawada association soon.

WFP office in Qamishli delivered the Public bakeries in Hasaka about 9 tons of dry yeast as a grant to help the bakeries to continue their work in light of the cut off the yeast coming from Homs Sugar factory due to the crisis in the country and their attempt to ensure it from the local markets.

WFP delivered about 140,000 food packages to Hasaka Province since the beginning of the current year.
