Damascus, SANA- Damascus Countryside governorate, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, began the distribution of 1500 food packages on Monday to locals in Muadamiyat al-Sham in Damascus Countryside.
4000 food packages are planned to be distributed in the coming four days.
A number of the city’s residents who received food packages expressed their appreciation for this move, hoping that more packages would be distributed in the future due to their difficult living conditions.
Speaking to reporters, head of Muadamiyat al-Sham city council Bassam Karbouj said that the packages would be distributed under the supervision of the national reconciliation committees, pointing out that 3000 packages were distributed in Muadamiya earlier and another 4000 packages will be distributed to the families in the city.
He stressed that food aid, particularly bread, will be distributed in coordination with Damascus Countryside governorate and under the supervision of the Syrian Red Crescent.
