Nalbandian: terrorist crimes in Syria are “crimes against humanity”

Damascus, SANA, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Laham discussed on Wednesday with Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian the latest political developments in Syria and the region, and the systematized terrorism against the Syrian people.

During the meeting, Nalbandian affirmed that the crimes of terrorist organizations in Syria are considered crimes against humanity, pointing out to the need for continuing dialogue among all sides in Syria and defending interests of the Syrian state.

“Wars being launched in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya aim to dissolve the structure of national state and establish weak entities that fight each other,” al-Laham said, referring to the volume of Saudi, Qatari and Turkish involvement in inflaming crisis in Syria and funding terrorists.

He called for unifying efforts against terrorism and pressing its financiers and supporters to stop their behaviors which constitute a violation of the international law and UN relevant resolutions, appreciating Armenia stances in support of Syria.

Nalbandian, for his part, called for utilizing all efforts against terrorism to which Syria is exposed, on top, halting the financing of terrorism and preventing some sides from purchasing the stolen oil from Syria.

He hoped the Syrians would reach a successful solution to the crisis in the country and restore Syria to the era of security and stability.
