Homs, SANA- Al-Dabbousiyeh Customs in Homs province confiscated on Tuesday amounts of gold, coins, silver artifacts, and other materials prepared for smuggling into Lebanon.
Al-Dabbousiyeh Customs Chief Majd Ismael told SANA that following investigations, the Customs in cooperation with the authorities in al-Dabbousiyeh seized a large amount of out-of- circulation coins from several countries,
silver relics dating back 200 years, and eight Ajami carpets, all of which were inside a privately-owned sedan car heading from Aleppo to Lebanon.
Ismael added that during inspection of the car, it was discovered that the passenger, a woman, was hiding inside her clothes more than 2kg of worked gold, therefore she and the driver were arrested and referred to the proper
authorities.
