Damascus, SANA – The General Establishment of Syrian Railways (al-Hijaz Railway) has run its first excursion train trip after a halt since 2010.
The train ride was between al-Rabweh and Dummar on the outskirts of Damascus.
The establishment, which is the national railway operator for Syria, subordinate to the Ministry of Transportation, was established in 1956. However, the first railway in Syria opened in 1895.
