Syria sweeps 16 medals at Dubai International Aquatic Championship

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian National Team for short course swimming won 16 medals at Dubai International Aquatic Championship.

Swimmers Ayman Klzie, Khaled Barakat, Bayan Jumah and Maya al-Ghadda won  a total of 7 gold,6 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Ayman Klzie won gold in the Men 19-29 200 LC Meter Butterfly, Men 19-29 200 LC Meter IM, Men 19-29 400 LC Meter IM, Men 12-29 200 LC Meter Butterfly, and Men 12-29 100 LC Meter Butterfly events, in addition to winning silver in the Men 19-29 100 LC Meter Butterfly, Men 19-29 50 LC Meter Butterfly, and Men 12-29 200 LC Meter IM events, and bronze in the Men 12-29 50 LC Meter Butterfly event.

Bayan Jumah won gold in the Women 19-29 200 LC Meter Freestyle and Girls 19-29 100 LC Meter Freestyle events, silver in the Girls 19-29 50 LC Meter Freestyle event, and bronze in the Women 12-29 50 LC Meter Freestyle.

Khaled Barakat won silver in the Boys 12-13 200 LC Meter IM event and bronze in the Boys 12-13 200 LC Meter Freestyle event.

Chairman of the General Sports’ Federation Muwafaq Jum’a hails the remarkable achievement acquired by the swimmers during the most important championships in the region, asserting the necessity of activating the Syrian presence at international championships and achieving more victories at international and Arab forums.
