Education ministry, WFP discuss project on “school nutrition”

Damascus, SANA- Education Minister Dr. Hazwan al-Waz discussed Monday with Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Syria Matthew Hollingworth   means to carry out a project on school nutrition.

The minister pointed out to the important role of this project to put an end to the students’  leaking out of schools and to increase the number of students who join their studies through delivering them with part of their food-needs.

“There were some experiments for that project in the schools in Damascus countryside, Tartous and Hasaka,” the Minister said.

For his part, Hollingworth appreciated the efforts exerted by the Ministry in supporting the school nutrition project to facilitate the return of students to their schools, hoping the project would be expanded  to cover  more numbers of students.

World Food Program aims to  target 350,000 children in Aleppo, Hassaka, Tartous and Damascus Countryside where the large number of the affected families existed due to the crimes of terrorist organizations.
