Provinces, SANA – Units of the army and armed forces centered near Nassib border crossing carried out a successful regrouping and repositioning operation at new military positions within the controlled area, according to the scheduled plan after the Jordanian side closed the border crossing point and deployed military forces, a military source told SANA Thursday.
Jordanian authorities closed on Wednesday Nassib border crossing point from the Jordanian side and Syria held Jordanian government responsible for closing the border crossing.
An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that Syria holds the Jordanian authorities responsible for obstructing the movement of trucks and passengers and any ensuing economic or social repercussions.
Later, the army carried out special operations against terrorist organizations’ gatherings in number of villages and towns in the southern Daraa province near the Jordanian border, where large number of terrorists have been infiltrating the Syrian territory.
The operations, which were concentrated in al-Taiba, Um al-Mayazen and al-Mataiya villages, resulted in killing dozens of terrorists, most of them from Jabhat al-Nusra and “al-Muthanna” movement.
In the northwestern countryside of Daraa, the army units destroyed vehicles and heavy machine guns for terrorist organizations and killed a number of their members and injured others in Tal Antar, Tafas city and the towns and villages of Samlin, Zamrin, Um al- Ousaj, al-Tiha, al-Mal, Aqraba and al-Ashaari.
Dens of terrorists from “Ahrar al-Sham” and “al-Furqan Brigades” groups, which are led by Jabhat al-Nusra, were destroyed in Mas’hara town in the eastern countryside of the neighborhing Quneitra province, an area geographically intertwined with villages in Daraa northwestern countryside.
Other army operations in Atman, Ibtaa, Dael and al-Shaikh Miskeen city in the northern countryside resulted in destroying a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun and an arms and ammunition depot. Terrorists from “al- Muthanna Movement” and Jabhat al-Nusra organization were killed.
In Daraa al-Balad neighborhood in the city of Daraa, an army unit carried out an accurate operation against terrorists’ positions around the Electricity Company, leaving many of them dead or wounded.
Idleb
The army killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their vehicles in Idleb and in Binish, Ma’ar Tamsrein, Kfar Tala, Taftanaz, Abu al-Dhour and Kfar Rouhin in Idleb countryside.
Aleppo
The army destroyed dens for terrorists and killed many of them in al-Jaboul, Khan Touman, Khan al-Assal, Kfar Hamra, al-Lairamoun and Erbid in Aleppo countryside.
Hama
The army killed a number of terrorists and destroyed several vehicles in Akerbat, Kfar Zeinta, al-Kastal al-Wastani, Hamadi Omar, Atshan and Rasafa in Hama countryside.
Deir Ezzor
Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, killed terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) during operations against their dens in the mountain chain starting from al-Banourama area, passing through Deir Ezzor-al-Mayadeen road and towards al-Tharda mountains in the eastern Deir Ezzor province.
Homs
The army destroyed two warehouses of weapons in al-Ghantu, a number of vehicles and killed a number of terrorists in Manoukh, Shaer, Jabal Dahek, Jazal and Rahoum in Homs countryside.
Earlier, the army destroyed a number of terrorists’ dens in the villages of Masaada, Salam Gharbi, Salam Sharqi, Habra, Abu Hwadit, al-Mushairfa al-Shamaliyeh and the area between Rajm al-Aali and Rajm al-Qasr in the eastern countryside of Homs.
All terrorists inside the dens were killed and their arms and ammunition were destroyed, a military source confirmed to SANA.
The source added that a number of terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and the so-called “Homs Legion” and “al-Farouq Brigades” groups were killed in the army operations in the village of Kisin and the western farms of al-Rastan in the northern countryside of Homs.
