Damascus, SANA- The Omani Embassy in Damascus organized a reception on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Sultanate of Oman’s National Day at the Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel.
The event was attended by Special Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic, Bouthaina Shaaban, Secretary-General of the Republic Presidency, Mansour Azzam, Minister of Culture, Diala Barakat, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mohammad Rabie Qalaaji, and Information Minister, Ziad Ghosn, as well as Damascus Governor, Eng. Mohammad Tariq Krishati, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Habib Abbas and Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Bassel al-Hamwi.
A number of directors of departments at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, as well as economic, cultural and media figures also attended the reception along with a group of Syrian artists, and a number of heads and representatives of the accredited diplomatic missions in Damascus.
In a statement to journalists, Special Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic, Bouthaina Shaaban, shed light on the deep and distinguished relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples, praising the Sultanate’s wise stances in support of Arab issues, including Syria, as Oman did not close its embassy during the terrorist war on Syria.
In a similar statement, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Abbas congratulated the Sultanate on its National Day, indicating that the Syrian-Omani relations are deeply rooted and are witnessing a remarkable development in all fields, serving the interests of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
In turn, Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, Dr. Riyad Abbas, expressed hope to enhance bilateral cooperation to achieve the interests of the peoples of the two countries, wishing the Sultanate peace and prosperity.
