WFP warns of famine in Gaza strip due to Israeli aggression

Geneva,SANA- The United National World Food Programme (WFP) warned that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza strip could soon escalate into famine unless immediate action is taken due to the continued Israeli siege and aggression and its imposition of measures to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.

The program explained in a statement reported by the “Wafa” agency today that ‘’WFP currently has approximately 94,000 metric tons of food – enough to feed one million people for four months – ready to go into Gaza, with roughly half of it positioned in Egypt, and Jordan’’.

WFP confirmed about two weeks ago in a post on the “X” platform that ‘’no food aid has entered northern Gaza since the first of October, in addition to the closure of food distribution points due to the continued Israeli shelling and evacuation orders that hinder efforts to provide humanitarian aid.
