Muscat, SANA – Special Advisor at the Republic Presidency, Bouthaina Shaaban, met on Tuesday Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers of Sultanate of Oman Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said in the Omani capital, Muscat, and discussed with him the current developments in the region
This meeting, which took place at the Prime Ministry building, is among other political meetings held by Dr. Shaaban as part of her visit to Oman with a Syrian delegation to participate in the activities of International Conference on Oral History organized by Wathiqah Watan foundation (Watan Document) and the Omani National Records and Archives Authority.
The two sides discussed the current Arab situation and developments in the region, necessity of solidarity among Arab countries, and overcoming any differences to confront current challenges.
The Omani Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the necessity of benefiting from the lessons which has proved that division is harmful to t Arab world, and therefore, there must be solidarity and cooperation on all sides.
Al Said hailed the realistic and wise policy of President Bashar al-Assad, which focused on protecting and maintaining Syrian state and its political principles, conveying to Dr. Shaaban his greetings to President al-Assad.
For her part, Dr. Shaaban said that the reason for the continued imposition of unilateral coercive Western measures on Syrian people is their adherence to their decision’s independence and their country’s sovereignty.
She pointed out the Western role in distorting the facts of reality, with regard to war on Syria, the dangerous role in spreading division among peoples, and its attempt to undermine the distinctive coexistence in many countries, including Syria.
