Syria participates in dialogue sessions in Amman on role of Arab cultural bodies in the current challenges

Amman, SANA- A series of intellectual and cultural dialogue sessions were held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, at the invitation of the Arab Thought Forum, attended by the Head of the Arab Writers Union in Syria, Dr. Mohammad al-Hourani, and the heads of writers’ unions from a number of Arab countries, and the President of the Writers’ Union of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The first axis of the dialogue sessions program, “Towards a New Arab Thought,” was devoted to discussing the current problems of the Arab intellectual scene. The participants emphasized the need to work on a comprehensive Arab civilizational intellectual project stemming from the awareness of intellectuals and thinkers of different affiliations and intellectual and ideological orientations, within an integrated institutional framework at the level of Arab countries.

Prince Hassan bin Talal talked about the great dangers facing the Arab world, sending a call to intellectual, cultural and political institutions to be aware of the dangers and threats facing the Arab countries.

The Prince presented a set of special maps that expose the divisive schemes aimed at destroying and fragmenting countries, stressing the necessity of networking with global thought that is consistent with our convictions and defends the justice of our issues.

Within the framework of coordination with intellectual and cultural institutions and unifying their discourse, Head of the Arab Writers Union in Syria, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, gave a lecture at the International Affairs Association in the Jordanian capital, in cooperation with the Arab Thought Forum, entitled “New Liberalism… The War on Morality and the Culture of Belonging,” attended by a number of intellectuals.
