Damascus, SANA- Journalists’ Union in Syria held on Tuesday at Al-Assad Library a celebration on the occasion of its fiftieth foundation anniversary in the presence of Hussein Arnous, the prime minister several other ministers in addition to a group of journalists who were honored too.
“The journalists are soldiers of the word, right and truth, and they are the voice of the people,” Arnous said, appreciating the role of the Journalists’ Union that offered many martyrs and wounded for the sake of Syria’s dignity while covering the victories of the Syrian Arab Army against terror, extending his congratulations to all those working in the media field.
Chairman of the Syrian Journalists’ Union, Moussa Abdelnour,, stressed that honoring media men is an important station to celebrate national media expertise in light of the journalists’ commitment to the nation’s issues and their readiness to make sacrifices alongside the Syrian Arab Army, noting their sacrifices for the sake of the right and truth.
50 journalists from the pioneering generation were honored with shields as an appreciation of their efforts, effective and important role in the media profession.
