Upon directives of President al-Assad, Electricity Minister honors workers at al-Zara power plant

Hama, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Minister of Electricity, Ghassan Al-Zamel, honored the technical staff workers who contributed to the maintenance and repair of steam generation turbines at the Al-Zara power station.

The Minister said Tuesday that President al-Assad gave his directives to allocate a financial reward in honor of the workers’ efforts which were essential in enhancing the continuity and efficiency of the station’s operation.

“Honoring the workers comes as an expression of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to their work as they are the basic pillar in implementing development plans and improving the productivity of the electricity sector,” al-Zamel said.

The station director, Ali Hassan, for his part, said the rewards, which covered 412 engineers, technicians and workers, represent a merit on the chest of all the station’s cadres that will increase their determination to develop and improve work in the service of the nation.

He pointed out that this achievement was achieved after an effort that lasted 110 days, exceeding international standards that require 150 days for the same maintenance.
