A Lebanese tourist group visits the ancient city of Palmyra

Palmyra, SANA-A Lebanese tourist group consisting of 100 tourists visited the ancient city of Palmyra today.

They viewed the most prominent historical edifices spread there, and documented the devastation left behind by the terrorist organization “ISIS” before its defeat from the region.

Head of the group, Ziad Khairallah, said in a statement that the members of the group fulfilled their dream of visiting the marvelous city of Palmyra, and documented what the terrorist organization “ISIS” did by vandalizing the city’s most important archaeological monuments, which is a catastrophic crime against all of humanity.

He added that the nations and peoples change while cultural, human and artistic values continue from generation to generation, we hope that these archaeological edifices will be reconstructed by organizations specialized in international antiquities so that Palmyra continues in victory and steadfastness in the face of the enemies of human culture.
