With participation of Syria, a coordination meeting for Arab Reading Challenge held in Cairo

Cairo, SANA- With the participation of Syria, a meeting for the coordinators of Arab Reading Challenge initiative in Arab countries was held in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the status of reading in Arab countries and the mechanism for motivating students to read.

The participants in the meeting discussed the step of creating digital library which will be available to all students in Arab countries during next October and which includes diverse and purposeful books for different age levels of students.

The general coordinator of the competition in Syria, Ali al-Abbas, said that Education Ministry is working on “National House for Reading and Writing” project in cooperation with government and private institutions.

He noted to the large number of students participating in the competition this year in the country, which reflects the increased interest in reading as well Arabic language.
