Syria participates in Joint Annual Meetings of Arab Financial Institutions for the year 2024

Cairo-SANA- Syria participated in the annual meetings of Arab financial bodies and institutions and the Arab Monetary Fund for the year 2024 kicked on Tuesday in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, with the participation of the heads of Arab financial bodies and institutions.

The Syrian delegation is headed by the Minister of Finance, Kinan Yaghi, with the participation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Muhammad Issam Hazma, along with representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Foreign Trade.

These meetings constitute a unified platform for Arab financial institutions to discuss the most prominent financial, economic and development issues and topics at the regional level, and through them to evaluate the measures and steps achieved in order to support development in the Arab world, discuss future plans and development challenges, and strengthen regional partnerships between Arab economies.

At the conclusion of these meetings, Minister Yaghi participated in the work of the 15th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, where the most important regional and international economic developments and challenges facing the economies of Arab countries were reviewed.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Yaghi held several bilateral meetings with Arab finance ministers during which bilateral financial cooperation ties and common issues were discussed. A meeting was held with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development to discuss cooperation plans with the two funds.
