Syria, Cuba discuss strengthening bilateral parliamentary ties

Havana-SANA – Strengthening of parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries was the focus of the meeting that brought together the Chairman of the Syrian-Cuban Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Muhammad Abdel Halim Jarry, and accompanying delegation, with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Enrique Charbonnet.

Jarry condemned the ongoing U.S. siege on Cuba for more than sixty years, with him thanking Cuba’s positions in support of Syria in international forums.

During the meeting, the Syrian Ambassador to Cuba, Ghassan Obeid, hailed the high-level coordination between the Syrian and Cuban delegations in international forums regarding various issues of common interest.

Charbonnet described as deeply rooted and historical these relations, underlining that the visit of  the Syrian parliamentary delegation to Cuba is important in boosting bilateral ties and voicing his country’s thanks to Syria for its historical supporting positions.
