Mikdad receives credentials of New UNHCR representative in Syria

Damascus-SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, on Thursday received the credentials of Mr. Gonzalo Vargas Llosa as Head of the Mission of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Damascus.

Mikdad said that Syria welcomes cooperation with the international organization and facilities its task in the country in order to improve the conditions of the refugees and displaced who were forced to leave their home by terrorism.

Llosa, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the standing coordination with the Syrian government and all the facilitations provided by Syria to the UNHCR in Damascus and other provinces, stressing the need for a constructive cooperation among all parties to solve the pending issues.
