Moscow, SANA-The Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, who is vying for the country’s top office as an independent candidate, has cast his electronic vote in the presidential election.
This is not the first time the president used this voting method. In the last few years, Putin cast his vote online during the autumn single election day. This is the first time online voting is available during presidential elections, (it is currently available in approximately one third of all regions of Russia).
On Friday morning, the Russian presidential elections began throughout Russia and its diplomatic and consular representations in foreign countries, which are taking place this year over three days, from the 15th to the 17th of this March.
Four candidates are competing for the presidential position for a six-year term.
The number of voters exceeds 112 million in Russia and reaches about two million abroad.
