Vershinin and Hadi discuss the situation in Syria and the region

Moscow,SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed yesterday the situation in Syria and the region with the Regional Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs for the crisis in Syria, Muhannad Hadi.

Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the two sides paid particular attention to the humanitarian and economic situation in Syria, stressing the need to increase international assistance without discrimination and politicization and in accordance with the norms and principles of international humanitarian law.

The two sides discussed the current situation in the Middle East region and focused on the continued escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza Strip, with increasing threats of destabilization in neighboring Arab countries.
